During a Senior visit to Doherty Steel, high school students will get a behind-the-scenes look at the steel fabrication process—from raw materials to finished structures. Students will tour the facility, see cutting-edge machinery in action, and observe skilled tradespeople working in welding, drafting, and assembly. They’ll learn about safety practices, project timelines, and the wide range of career opportunities in structural steel, including engineering, design, and skilled trades. With the chance to ask questions and interact with professionals, students will leave with a clearer understanding of the steel industry and its critical role in construction and infrastructure.
