At an Exploratory Day with OPCMIA Local 518 Cement Masons and Bricklayers & Allied Crafts Local #15 in Kansas City, seniors learn about the apprenticeship program, wages, and benefits while touring training facilities. They observe hands-on demos like mixing and finishing concrete, tuckpointing brick, meet instructors and apprentices, and hear about “earn while you learn” opportunities. Students review requirements (age 18, driver’s license, drug test), explore classroom and jobsite training, and gain guidance on applying for this high-demand career path.
